One of the dental problems that need proper treatment is having crooked teeth. That’s why a lot of studies have been made for teeth straightening and this one includes orthodontic treatment. It straightens teeth and moves it to improve its look and efficiency.
Usually after losing the milk teeth, and before the permanent teeth come through, it is the recommended time to have an orthodontic assessment. During that time, the jaw will have grown enough for the orthodontist to see if your new teeth would have enough space to come through.
There are different ways to straighten teeth. One of these is the use of metal braces that causes gentle pressure on specific teeth to place them in the right position. Having a straight teeth also keep it and gums healthy by spreading the pressure of your bite evenly.
Moreover, there are different kinds of brace. Some can be removed while others are fixed to the teeth. One of these is removable braces which are made of plastic and usually have springs and wire clips to move specific teeth. Fixed braces on the other hand, are not removable. It is only removed by the orthodontist when the treatment is finished. These are made of small brackets that are glued to the teeth with filling material and are joined together with a wire.
In Clapham area, there are well-known dentist and orthodontist that have been trained in and practiced all aspects of orthodontist for many years. Clapham dentists also will provide recommendations and solutions for teeth straightening.

Orthodontics is a field of dentistry that involves treatment of improper bites that may result to teeth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships or even both. There are many dentists in Clapham that offer the best option for orthodontic needs.
Most of the countries have their own systems for the training and registration of orthodontic specialists. In the United Kingdom, the training period lasts three years, after completing the membership from a Royal College. A further two years is then completed to train to consultant level, after which a fellowship examination from the Royal College is sat. It is always worth contacting the professional body responsible for registering orthodontists to ensure that the orthodontist you wish to consult is a recognised specialist.
Some of the methods to straighten tooth is through traditional fixed braces, invisalign, cosmetic six month braces, Inman aligner, lingual braces and porcelain veneers. The invisalign is a removable treatment that is also invisible and easy to clean as well. Porcelain veneers on the other hand, places a customized shell over the surface of the tooth. The orthodontist must recognize the various characteristics of a teeth irregularity and describe the nature of the problem, designs a treatment strategy based on the specific needs and desires of the patient; and present the treatment strategy to the patient in such a way that the patient fully understands the outcomes of his decision.
A Clapham dentist has an excellent training and skills for orthodontics and other dental concerns. Through orthodontics, one will achieve the great look and proper smile that one deserves to have.

Invisalign is a modern approach that uses invisible braces for teeth straightening. Invisalign is made of a smooth, comfortable BPA-free plastic. This will not irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces usually do.
The treatment begins after choosing experienced invisalign preferred provider that is exactly right for you. The doctor will discuss your case in detail with the use of taking pictures, x-rays, and impressions of your teeth. Based on your case and treatment plan, a series of clear aligners custom-made are created especially for you.
Clapham dentists have wide orthodontic training and over the past years, they have treated a lot of patients with different invisible brace systems. These dentists in Clapham have helped hundreds of patients, making them achieve improvement on their smiles that reflects their real own self. Each case is unique to each patient. Invisalign treatment normally takes about a year for adults and for teens it is comparable to the use of metal braces however, with the use of invisible braces, the improvement is noticeable at a shorter period of time.
After having Invisalign, you will have to visit your Clapham dentist to monitor your progress with occasional checkups depending on your need. In using invisalign, there are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten and others won’t even notice that you’re straightening your teeth.
In addition to this, the dentist Clapham SW11 often combines invisalign with other techniques to provide its patients excellent results that best suit their dental and orthodontic needs.

Not everyone has straight and perfectly formed teeth. Tooth misalignment varies in degree; from slightly crooked incisors to a full set of exceedingly deformed teeth alignment. Misalignment is genetically inherited but may also be due to other factors like sucking on thumbs and bottles, early loss of teeth, undue pressure on gums and teeth and sever facial injury. Having crooked teeth may interfere with proper chewing, high risk of tooth decay, speech impediment and very low self esteem.

Before, this is a condition one has to live with, but not anymore. With modern technology and continuous study, orthodontics and dentists have developed a number of teeth straightening treatment system like retainers, metal braces that is composed of brackets and wires that covers the teeth, aligners like Invasalign which is custom-made clear aligners that are not just invisible but also comfortable and removable, dental veneers, cosmetic contouring and removable orthodontic appliance. To know what treatment you should undergo, it is still best to consult your dentist.

But how much are we willing to pay to get the teeth we want? Mind you, some cosmetic dentistry treatments may come at a very high price. Shockingly, many of individuals overspend when in reality they do not need the treatment they have paid for but do not seem to care so long as their teeth is taken cared of as fast as possible to avoid enduring any form of embarrassment when they need to go out and be seen in public.

For oral hygiene, brushing our mouth should be part of our daily routine to make sure that our teeth, gums and tongue are clean. Toothbrush is a dental instrument used for cleaning teeth and is normally used with toothpaste and mouth wash.
Today, we have different types of toothbrush depending on what bristles are used. Toothbrushes using bamboo and bone handles, even incorporated bristles made of either Siberian boar’s hair or horse hair are called natural bristles. Although effective for cleaning, animal hair brushes can retain bacteria, fall out of the handle and tend to dry slower compared to that of contemporary brushes. Now a day, nylon bristles are commonly used in households. We can choose from overly soft to firm bristled brushes that are available in different sizes, shapes and textures. Alternative materials are also used like rubber bristles and other electric toothbrush use sponge.
To keep our toothbrush clean and keep ourselves healthy, it is imperative that we let the brush dry out in between uses because it can be a breeding ground for fungus and germs that can build up at an alarming level. We should not use other people’s toothbrush and make sure that ours do not touch other’s toothbrush when stored to prevent the spread of contagious viruses like flu and cold.
Clapham dentists and other specialists would agree that we should change our toothbrush every three months since bristles flatten and spread apart with continuous usage. For better oral hygiene, go to a dentist for hygienist services.

Tooth misalignment is not a condition to smile about. The degree varies from a slightly crooked front tooth to a full set of severely misaligned teeth.

The good news is that there are effective ways to correct and realign crooked teeth. Clapham dentists offer the following solutions:

1.	Traditional fixed braces
Braces consists of metal, plastic or ceramic wires and brackets that are glued to the teeth. The wire gradually exerts pressure on the teeth to move them into alignment. Once the braces are removed, a retainer must be worn for a few months to keep the teeth from shifting. This procedure takes a longer treatment time compared to other methods. Also, since the wires cannot be removed, the roots of the teeth may be damaged.

2.	Cosmetic six month braces
Like the traditional braces, brackets and wires will be used to straighten the teeth but only for 4-7 months. However, only the front teeth that show are aligned.

3.	Invisalign
This is a series of relatively invisible, custom-made aligners that needs to be replaced every two weeks. This treatment slowly, but continuously, moves your teeth in their desired position. The length of treatment is easily determined by using computerized treatment software that shows the series of movements the teeth will go through.

4.	Inman Aligner
This treatment is a combination of invisible and metal braces system. It relies on removable aligners, with a single clear wire, to move teeth. Although the process only takes 8-16 weeks, it only straightens the front teeth.

5.	Lingual braces
The Lingual braces are quite similar to standard wire braces, only they are fitted to the back surfaces of the teeth. The process may be a little uncomfortable and the braces may annoy the tongue but it can be used to correct severe orthodontic problems.

6.	Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers are ceramic shells placed over the front surface of the teeth to create perfectly aligned white teeth. Results may be expected in just as little as two weeks but definitely at a really high cost.

Bad breath or Halitosis is an unpleasant and offensive odor emanating from a person’s nasal or oral region. One can have an acute (short term) or chronic (long term) bad breath depending on its cause.

Generally, about 80-90% of bad breath originates in the mouth, the gums and tongue in particular.

However, oftentimes, a person with bad breath does not know that he or she is suffering from this condition because the odor-detecting cells in the nose have become accustomed to the constant flow of bad smell coming from the mouth.

How would you know if you have bad breath?

The most common indicator that you have bad breath is when someone offers you chewing gums or mints and people step back or recoil when you are talking to them. Another sure sign of this condition is frequently having a bad taste in your mouth or experiencing dry mouth with thick saliva on a regular basis.

What causes a Halitosis condition?

Poor dental hygiene (improper and infrequent brushing and flossing) is the prevailing cause of Halitosis. The millions of bacteria that live in the mouth, especially on the back of the tongue, are the primary causes of bad breath.

We should also factor in the individual’s medical condition like diabetes, liver, disease, gallbladder dysfunction and other diseases.

How do we fight Halitosis?

The first approach in eliminating this problem is by seeking help from a professional. Call and schedule an appointment with a Clapham dentist to diagnose your problem let them help you with their Hygienist and Therapist Treatments.

With the advent of 12 week orthodontics with Inman aligners and six month smiles, has the invisible aligner bubble burst. Last year I treated over 200 patients with invisible aligners. In the past few months the ratio between invisalign and Inman aligners is 24:1 in favour of Inman aligners. The trend is likely to continue with the Inman aligner being more cost effective, quicker and fully removable. Is it a case of invisalign RIP? Well probably not. But it will have to address its pricing policy and the steep rise in the prices it charges if patients are to choose it. And the speed. And the range of movements. I think the era of the Inman aligner is just beginning to dawn.

ABB is the UK’s answer to the American style Simon Cowellesque smile makeover. Rather than filing away your own teeth and replacing them with porcelain veneers, which can look too perfect, the UK approach is more subtle. Teeth are first aligned in a matter of just 8-12 weeks with an Inman aligner, then whitened, usually with peroxide gel in trays (more effective than laser whitening – another US export going out of fashion in many practices) and then any defects to the teeth repaired by bonding white filling material to them. Uber conservative. Highly aesthetic. And still YOU. And all at a fraction of the cost too. So what are you waiting for. In just 8-12 weeks you could have transformed your smile without looking like you have had anything done. No drilling, no pain, just a new confident you. Hasn’t dentistry changed. Of course all you Cowell wannabies we can help you too. But before we do, just try the UK approach first.
